Search for several terms: You can search for more than one term (in the same search field) by separating them with '|' (e.g. hemming|sascer will search for both authors). Do not use '*', as this will block the search.
SEARCH TAGS: Moving the mouse pointer over a search/field tag will show its long title (also on the results page). You can search in any field by clicking on it (it will appear as last item under the search field).
YEAR: You can search for '1576' or '1560-1580' (including first and last year; without quotation marks). Note: The results only include those entries where the year is coded correctly. In many cases you will be able to deduce the year from other fields. We are working to improve the coding of the approx. two hundred entries where the software cannot identify the year.
Search in earlier results: The search will select from the results of an earlier search. This can be repeated as often as you want by clicking 'back' on top of the search results-page. The earlier search results will only be overwritten once you do a new unlimited search.
